Client Requirements – Construction of a new 250-bedroom student accommodation building including support accommodation, meeting rooms, video conference room, library and seminar areas.
- Scope – The supply and installation of timber roof works, timber door-sets, ironmongery, window reveal linings, timber roof carcasssing, acoustic and veneered wall panelling, timber staircase and bespoke joinery.
- Details – Formally the Acland private hospital, Acland House is a Grade II listed building by the renowned Oxford architect TG Jackson and forms a central part of the new H B Allen Centre which wraps around on three sides and extends below the historic structure. The site occupies 0.68 hectares and is located 300 metres to the north of the main College.
A full excavation around and under Acland House took place to provide a new basement area. This was carried out by our sister company Getjar.
